Challenge
Digital product creators and software vendors lose revenue to unauthorized distribution and piracy. Existing licensing solutions are either expensive, complex to integrate, or introduce startup latency for legitimate paying customers.
The
Strategy
I built License Guard as a developer-friendly software protection system:
1. Cryptographic Token Generation & Hardware Fingerprinting
License keys are signed using HMAC-SHA256 and bound to hardware fingerprints (UUID + MAC address hashes) to enforce seat limits and prevent key sharing across unauthorized machines.
2. High-Throughput Redis Token Bucket Rate Limiting
